In the mood for a Saturday craft? Try making a pomander!
This delightfully scented decoration is a historic holiday tradition. Originally a symbol of luck and health, it is now a sweet decoration.
Try it at home with your family.
You will need: oranges or other citrus fruits, whole cloves, ribbon, scissors, pen.
1. Press the cloves into the citrus skin with the pointed side. You may like to use the pen to make pilot holes first, especially for younger children.
2. You can cover the decoration in cloves or place them in a special pattern.
3. When finished, cut some ribbon and tie it around the decoration.
4. Enjoy! The citrus will dry out of the next few weeks through the cloves.
