Did you know that Christmas ornaments used to be made primarily of natural materials? Children used to make popcorn strings, and real evergreen was used to create boughs and wreaths!
In fact, childrens toys were hand made items as well, made by a parent or an older sibling as only wealthy families would have purchased toys for children. An orange was considered to be an excellent Christmas present as it would have had to travel all the way from Florida, which back then was no easy feat!
